WISE Employment: 25 Years I 25 Faces I 25 Stories

This year, we celebrate 25 years of serving and enriching the lives of disadvantaged job seekers in the community – from people with a disability or mental illness, to refugees and Indigenous Australians. In that time, we have placed over 100,000 Australians in jobs, worked with 10,000 employers and created three socially-inclusive social enterprises, currently employing 100 people.

So, what does disadvantaged look like in the workplace? And how has it changed over the last 25 years?

Meet 25 real faces who courageously share their stories including their challenges and triumphs in finding work during our 25-year journey. WISE Employment’s founding board members also share their experiences and motivations in providing new pathways to employment and developing a range of specialist programs where the need is greatest.

This is just a small sample of the thousands of people we have helped over the last 25 years and every one of them has an amazing story to tell.

We hope you enjoy reading and sharing these.

Have a look at a brief WISE Employment timeline of what we’ve been up to over the last two and a bit decades.
